More new iPhone exposures seem to reveal a new Apple strategy of free advertising through leaks.
May 13th, 2010 by SQ

Is this the new iPhone? Of course it is.  We’ve seen this block of high tech before, only this time it’s in Vietnam.

Is Apple letting the cat out of the bag on their new baby on purpose?

If they weren’t before, they definitely seem to be now.

Crunchgear reports Verizon’s ad company, Landnor, is currently working on the big V’s ad campaign for the iPhone.

I just hope it’s for this year’s model.

And if AppleInsider’s report is as true as it seems we won’t be seeing Verizon service anytime soon without a contract change.

After years of Apple saying Adobe Flash isn’t ready for the iPhone, Adobe proves him right… again.
May 9th, 2010 by SQ
  • In the opening keynote, Ryan Stewart, a Flash Platform evangelist at Adobe, demoed Flash Player 10.1 running on his Nexus One (Android) phone. On his Mac, Ryan pulled up a site called Eco Zoo. Then, he pulled up the same thing on his Nexus One. The site’s progress bar filled in and the 3D world appeared for a few seconds before the browser crashed. Ryan said paraphrasing, “Whoops! Well, it’s beta, and this is an intense example — let’s try it again.” He tried it again and got the same result. So he said to the audience, “Well, this one isn’t going to work, but does anyone have a Flash site they’d like to see running?” Someone shouted out “Hulu.” Ryan said, “Hulu doesn’t work,” and then wrapped up his demo, telling people if they wanted to try more sites they could find him later and he’d let them play with his Nexus One.

Honestly, should Adobe be complaining about Apple’s out of hand dismissal of a product that still is in beta after nearly three years (probably four) of knowing they needed to produce something that worked on mobile devices?  Ridiculous.

Apple buys the company responsible for developing the iPad’s processor.
Apr 27th, 2010 by SQ
  • Apple has finalized a deal to acquire a small chip company called Intrinsity, Apple confirmed. Intrinsity, of Austin, Tex., made a name for itself by creating a fast chip for mobile devices in cooperation with Samsung, both a partner and competitor to Apple.

Intrinsity’s the company responsible for developing, along with Samsung, the Apple A4 processor.  The A4 is already in the iPad and almost certainly will be coming to an iPhone and iPod touch near you.

Apple requests return of lost iPhone prototype, completes the puzzle.
Apr 20th, 2010 by SQ

Apple’s requested return of the lost iPhone prototype, ending for some the speculation regarding the rogue device’s authenticity.

We’ll never know if this was a publicity stunt or not.  As it appears it was now stunt and we’ve seen what is likely to be quite close to the next generation iPhone.

This is Apple’s next iPhone.
Apr 19th, 2010 by SQ

After seeing these new photos from yet another source there can be no doubt: this is Apple’s next iPhone.

I wonder how long it’ll be until the prototype’s owner gets outed for being the one who left his device behind?  He might want to get some tips from Steve Bartman.

Purported prototype next-gen iPhone features.

AppleInsider’s breaking down in detail and photos the latest on the next generation iPhone.  Looks solid from here, but we wonder what Steve’s thinking about his newest creation landing on the net months before it’s due out.

Someone’s getting a whoopin’.
